Denver Water declares Stage 1 DROUGHT

District Park and Facility Watering Update on the Denver Water Stage 1 Drought declaration
As District residents and facilities users may be aware, The Denver Water Board of Commissioners declared a Stage 1 drought on March 25, 2026. These restrictions apply to all users supplied by Denver Water. Different watering requirements were imposed for residential users versus park/commercial addresses.
Larger users, such as CCVPRD, have been working with Denver Water to negotiate a water reduction plan for this summer. The District will reduce it's overall water usage from May through October by 20% to meet the requirements agreed upon with Denver Water.
As a result, District parks may have sprinkler systems "on" during different days and times than residential properties in order to provide water to the entire park system. Parks will receive less than usual watering, which may result in turf areas appearing less green or in a dormant state.

The District is doing its part in meeting it's 20% reduction goal to help Denver Water and other water providers keep water available for critical uses this summer, while striving to keep park amenities in good conditions.

Thanks for your help saving water this summer!
